| Charlotte’s Historical South End is located immediately south to Uptown, and is better known as Southend. Southend used to be an industrial area until in the 1970’s and ‘80’s, when it was revived into a more commercial district with restaurants, shops, antique stores and design-related industries settling in the area. Charlotte’s first railroad line is here, which could be the reason why the Historic Charlotte Trolley Museum is here, as well. Southend has a relaxed atmosphere and is popular, partially due to its proximity to Uptown. | ![]() |
