Plaza Midwood
Charlotte’s Plaza-Midwood district is located about a mile Northeast of Uptown. This lively and interesting neighborhood is known as one of Charlotte’s most diverse and eclectic neighborhoods. There are many young families here, and the home renovation trend has started to move into this area as well, from the Dilworth community, causing the real estate prices to rise. The commercial district in Plaza-Midwood covers about four square blocks, making it easy to get around, and is filled with art galleries, funky stores, privately owned retail stores and restaurants. Plans for new residential condominium developments have also been underway. The Plaza-Midwood neighborhood is also known to have an active gay and lesbian community.
