Steele Creek is located about 10 miles from Uptown and is located in Southwest Mecklenburg County. Steele Creek has been experiencing rapid growth, especially in retail, and is quickly transitioning from a large rural community to a more suburban one. The community contains one of the highest employment concentrations in the county and is also home to several recreation sites. Most of the residential and commercial areas are concentrated along the S Tyron Street corridor, however there are several large new residential projects being developed in the western fringes of Steele Creek.
